Course Description
The course provides the candidates with an overview of social security and social welfare in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA). Topics may include the social welfare system and welfare dependence, the sustainability of social welfare system, the role of voucher system and social insurance in social welfare system, tourism poverty alleviation, furthermore, smart health care and smart elderly service.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identity key points of social policy and the role of social security and social welfare in public administration.
CILO-2: Summarize and explain some core theoretical concepts in social policy, including equity, efficiency, and effectiveness, besides, core theories, like New Public Management, and New Public Governance.
CILO-3: Apply the theoretical concepts from this course to explain the social policy in Macau, Hong Kong, and Mainland China.
CILO-4: Evaluate and argue for possible solutions to real problems in social policy.
