The course introduces the critical concepts and issues related to regional studies. With a regional studies approach, the course discusses the concepts of localism, regionalism, and globalization by looking at the cases of Macao and other regions.

CILO-1: Identify key elements of the academic field of regional studies. CILO-2: Analyze the issues of Macao from the perspective of regional studies critically. CILO-3: Analyze the issues of Macao from a comparative political approach critically. CILO-4: Discuss local issues in relation to localism, regionalism and globalization.
