This course will examine various aspects of local culture and social issues of Macao, such as art creation, local identity, social structure, gender issues and social minorities.

CILO-1: Identify the major characteristics of the culture and society of Macao. CILO-2: Describe the following dimensions of Macao society: Macanese community, local associations and immigration. CILO-3: Discuss the major theories in social sciences for the analysis of Macao issues. CILO-4: Discuss how cultural works respond to the changes in society.
