Course Description
In this seminar-based course, students will engage with high-level readings from primary sources for exploration of selected topics related to psychology but not covered in other Seminar courses, such as topics on the latest trends in psychology, issues currently under debate, or new paradigms and approaches recently proposed. The readings will vary from year to year depending on the expertise of specialist staff and the needs for advanced study of psychology. The course includes advanced writing skills for assessment purposes.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Analyse and constructively critique (using critical thinking skills) scholarly papers in psychology related to her or his specific subarea of study.
CILO-2: Discuss how the readings on the selected topics relates to broader theoretical and methodological perspectives in the major areas of psychological science.
CILO-3: Discuss critically and engage in the scholarly debates regarding fundamental issues in psychological science.
CILO-4: Apply ideas, concepts and methods coherently and logically in written and oral communication in her or his own area of specialization.
