Course Description
In this course, students will engage in the nature of inquiry in psychological sciences and explore different epistemological perspectives and related methodological issues in psychology research. The course covers various advanced topics related to psychological science and research in selected contexts, such as applied contexts (e.g., business/industry, education, community, policy, health, national development, etc.), professional practice (e.g., clinical, counselling, school, etc.), or cultural settings.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify the assumptions underlying the selected techniques and the consequences if these assumptions are violated in psychological research.
CILO-2: Detect common misconceptions and misapplication in selected techniques and describe the correct practices to the problems.
CILO-3: Apply advanced statistical procedures to appropriate data and execute procedures using available computer software.
CILO-4: Review critically methods employed in psychological research.
