Course Description
This is an advanced course devoted to current development and advancement of one or more than one area of psychology. The content coverage is expected to change from time to time and should not represent fixed textbook material but focus on the recent development in psychology at the time of offering. Attending to the feature of new and recent advancement in psychology, an offering of this course may focus on depth by going into details of a narrow topic area or may focus on breadth by covering many aspects and related issues forming a broader area of research.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Describe the history and development of applied psychology as a field, as well as the various sub-fields within the discipline.
CILO-2: Identify the current issues and challenges facing applied psychologists and discuss in an oral discussion.
CILO-3: Compare various applied psychological interventions and techniques, locate the impact of psychological research on society and summarize in a paragraph or essay.
CILO-4: Evaluate and apply psychological research in real-world settings, and summarize and explain the applications in a paragraph or essay.
