Course Description
This course provides an analysis of current or controversial cutting-edge topics in applied psychological science. Students will engage with readings from primary sources for exploration of various topics of relevance to local and global issues in applied psychology. The readings will vary from year to year depending on the expertise of specialist staff and the needs for advanced study of psychology.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Integrate and apply what they have learnt in current and contemporary issues in psychology. Students are expected to be able to critically evaluate theories, methods, and findings in psychological research.
CILO-2: Describe and master the cutting-edge research, including current and contemporary issues in areas of current interest in psychological science. Students should be aware of the multidisciplinary nature of psychological science, and learn about the ways in which psychological science intersects with other disciplines.
CILO-3: Suitably address and integrate clinical and theoretical needs on current topics in psychological science through literature research in clinical populations.
