Course Description
The discipline surveys the literature of the modern Portuguese speaking nations, including Portugal, Brazil, the African Portuguese-speaking nations and Timor Lorosa’e, touching upon the colonial period yet paying particular attention to the literature of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Recognize the political, social and cultural factors that connect the different Portuguese-speaking nations.
CILO-2: Define research questions about particular literary works and determine which approaches are best suited to their work.
CILO-3: Provide an overview of literary production in Portuguese-speaking countries after independence.
