Course Description
This course is a practical seminar intended to provide training in the formulation of advanced research projects in the student’s area of interest. Students will be required to identify and develop relevant research questions and conduct systematic and creative assignments from a theoretical and practical framework to a well-developed, cohesive and coherent short thesis. Students will need to understand and apply methods for drawing and developing arguments and to provide evidence for scientific statements. Attention will be also given to relevant aspects of academic writing conventions.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Develop a short research plan (already prepared in the previous course PORT4001 - “Research and Report Writing Skills”) on a topic chosen within the area of Arts and Humanities.
CILO-2: Discuss and analyse data collected from different sources and/or interactional environments in Portuguese.
CILO-3: Prepare a written research report on the topic chosen.
CILO-4: Elaborate an oral presentation on the study.
