This course provides a linguistic overview of the grammar of the Portuguese language and includes references to characteristics of the different varieties of the Portuguese language.

CILO-1: Explain the core linguistic patterns and mechanisms at the morphology, syntax and lexicon level of Portuguese. CILO-2: Describe the specific place of Portuguese among Romance languages. CILO-3: Compare the main, different varieties of Portuguese. CILO-4: Reorganise the basic notions of grammar already acquired or being acquired in other courses. CILO-5: Demonstrate advanced proficiency in reading, writing and speaking skills in Portuguese. CILO-6: Assemble and compare data from language corpora as a learning tool for Portuguese.
