The course is designed to enhance general language skills, to develop the ability to use different levels of language and to adapt to different varieties of Portuguese. The programme exposes the student to Portuguese as an international language. Students will analyze and discuss written, audio and video texts, focusing on the linguistic and sociocultural content.

At the end of this course, students will be able to: 1. Get acquainted with Culture and Literature in Portuguese in the Lusophone countries through the analysis of relevant paradigmatic works; 2. Think critically through the perspectives of different cultures; 3. Develop critical skills for the interpretation of literary works and films; 4. Prepare and perform a short oral presentation of the final work
