Course Description
This course discusses the various activities and decisions that retailers face everyday. It introduces and integrates business, consumer and social concepts to provide an effective framework for the study of retailing. After taking this course, students should be equipped with the knowledge of selecting a store location, managing the retail operation, developing a merchandise plan as well as communicating with customers.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Demonstrate the tactics of the combination of the Retail Mix (Pricing; Merchandise Assortment; Store Management; Visual Merchandising; Customers Service) and extract the profit from a retail offering.
CILO-2: Demonstrate the techniques of a Multi- Channel retailer and to understand its importance to the contribution in the supply chain.
CILO-3: Classify and to explain the different types of Consumer motivations; Shopping behavior and Decision making process.
CILO-4: Identify and compare different types of locations and to demonstrate the impact of locations to the retail strategy.
CILO-5: Demonstrate and compare different types of Store design and visual Merchandize display.
