Course Description
This course is about creation and management of new ventures. Key topics include the concept of entrepreneurship, identification and evaluation of entrepreneurial opportunities, financing of new ventures, government policies promoting innovation and new venture creation, and small business management. Students will also learn how to formulate business plans.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Discuss the role and importance of entrepreneurship.
CILO-2: Recognize the entrepreneurial potential within themselves.
CILO-3: Explain the process of entrepreneurship, and identify ways to manage the process.
CILO-4: Explain what is opportunity, and describe how to evaluate it.
CILO-5: Discuss the ethical issues that are linked to entrepreneurial activities.
CILO-6: Identify strategies to manage enterprise growth/exit.
CILO-7: Develop a business plan, and evaluate a business plan to determine if it is complete.
