Course Description
This course studies how multinational corporations manage the ownership and control of activities across international markets through various organizational forms or modes of foreign entry. These organizational forms of international cooperation include wholly owned subsidiaries, branches, and representative offices; and the new forms such as international joint ventures, alliances, management contracts, franchising, licensing and mergers.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Explain clearly the concepts related to the development of strategy in the Multinational Corporation (MNC); the organizational challenges for its execution; and the management implications of operating a successful MNC.
CILO-2: Apply the various concepts and frameworks to understand and critically assess Case Studies on Multinational Corporations' (MNCs) operations and on how key decisions were made by executives.
CILO-3: Analyze the challenges that globalization brings to MNCs and on how managers lead in mitigating its negative effects.
