Course Description
This course is a study of international management issues with an aim to improve managerial effectiveness and organizational performance in a global environment. Several organizational and behavioral issues will be examined in an international context, which include ethics, management of international operations and control, motivation, leadership, communications and negotiation, and corporate culture. Theories of cross-cultural differences will also be discussed in depth.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify the challenges and analyze the cross-national institutions of managing multinational corporations (MNCs).
CILO-2: Discuss ethical practices and issues faced by businesses in an international environment.
CILO-3: Build effective entry strategies into other markets and cultivate a sense of ease to manage businesses in a multicultural environment.
CILO-4: Describe how to coordinate and integrate activities across subsidiaries of MNCs.
CILO-5: Manage cross-cultural business communications and knowledge sharing in the global environment.
CILO-6: An enhanced understanding of not just the MNCs, but also on how local firms can compete/collaborate with foreign MNCs.
