Course Description
Offers an in-depth examination of the procedural rules and practices governing criminal proceedings in Macao. Students explore the legal framework for investigations, trials, and appeals, emphasizing the rights of the accused and the obligations of law enforcement and judicial authorities. Topics include arrest and detention, evidence gathering, trial procedures, and sentencing. Through case studies and practical exercises, students develop a comprehensive understanding of the procedural safeguards and due process principles underpinning the Macao criminal justice system. The course prepares students for legal practice, advocacy, and scholarly research in criminal law and procedure in Macao.
