Course Description
This course builds on the course on WTO and Regional Trade Law and proposes the discussion of selected, more advanced issues of contemporary relevance in the international trading community. It will thus strongly rely on the discussion of case law, i.e. particularly ongoing disputes of global and regional relevance, and will be based on the assignment of pertinent reading materials. Active class participation in the form of raising questions or partake in group discussions as well as class presentations will be equally given an important role.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to identify the principal players of global trade regulation.
CILO-2: Students will be able to demonstrate how the regulation of global trade is organized, both materially and institutionally.
CILO-3: Students will be able to analyze the different multilateral and regional trade agreements, and assess the different means of dispute resolution in the realm of global trade.
CILO-4: Students will be able to evaluate the primary and secondary sources of international economic law, and devise their own critical ideas about the future of global trade.
