Course Description
The course focuses on the contract law using a comparative approach by studying EU, American, Asian and African countries’ legislation, court jurisprudence and doctrine. The course also covers the general part of the contract law, including conclusion of contract, interpretation, performance, and remedies for breach. The course also aims to enhance students’ proficiency in handling the multitude of concepts, doctrines, normative requirements and customary practices in this diversified field of law.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to identify basic principles governing the formation, interpretation, performance and termination of contracts.
CILO-2: Students will be able to appreciate the main features of the contract law of the common law and the civil law legal families.
CILO-3: Students will be able to identify the major instruments for the international harmonization of the law of contracts.
CILO-4: Students will be able to describe the major contract law differences in distinct legal traditions.
