Course Description
As an introductory course to civil law, this course covers topics from basic theories of civil law to issues of practical relevance, and offers an overview of the General Provisions of the Civil Law of the People's Republic of China (PRC). The course focuses on the basic principles, party to the civil legal relation, legal relations, legal acts, statute of limitations and other theoretical priorities and difficulties, with the aim of giving students a more comprehensive understanding of the general topics of civil law, while laying a good foundation for their study of civil law and other sectoral laws.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to describe the basic concepts and principles of civil law.
CILO-2: Students will be able to utilize civil law norms for the resolution of civil disputes.
CILO-3: Students will be able to employ methods of analysing legal relations.
CILO-4: Students will be able to systematically analyse the validity of legal acts.
CILO-5: Students will be able to calculate the statute of limitations and period in relation to specific cases.
