Course Description
Criminal law is one of the important fundamental laws in the legal system. This course consists of the definitions, principles, and important legal provisions of criminal law. This course mainly focuses on the legal norms of crimes, criminal liabilities, and penalties. This course will enable students to learn the basic concepts and theories of criminal law comprehensively and systematically, be familiar with the legal provisions.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to describe the legislation of the general provisions of criminal law and related judicial interpretations.
CILO-2: Students will be able to identify and describe the basic principles of criminal law, the concept, and the basic composition of crime.
CILO-3: Students will be able to articulate the main content of the system of criminal penalty, measurement of criminal penalty, implementation system of criminal penalty and eradication system of criminal penalty.
CILO-4: Students will be able to critically read and evaluate existing legislation and prevailing opinions under the guidance.
CILO-5: Students will be able to expertly apply the expertise they have learned to analyse specific criminal cases, critically read and evaluate criminal issues and high-profile cases, and engage in debates regarding complex cases.
