Course Description
Constitutional Law is the fundamental Law of a country, which sets out the ground rules and values of the country, allocating and limiting state powers, and enshrining fundamental rights. A decent comprehension of constitutional law of a country is the precondition for comprehension its whole legal system. This course provides an account and analysis of the text and practice of Chinese constitutional law against the background of China’s political system, history and culture. It aims to prepare students for correct and deep comprehension and analysing the constitutional, political, and public phenomena and questions that China is facing.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to define basic concepts, theories, principles, and major institutions of Chinese Constitutional Law.
CILO-2: Students will be able to explain the spirit, structure and workings of Chinese Constitution and political regime.
CILO-3: Students will be able to form rational and critical judgments about the constitutional and political phenomena and questions in China.
