This course is to expose students to various areas of Japanese society. The content will be updated with the ever-changing issues in Japanese society and culture, such as new words in the language, new fashion, social events in daily life, the change of Japanese political structure, etc.

CILO-1: Students will be able to comprehend academic writings in Japanese on this subjects. CILO-2: Students will be able to build up a large vocabulary by reading newspapers, magazines and other reference books. CILO-3: Students will be able to analyse and develop complex ideas and concepts pertaining to Japanese society and culture. CILO-4: Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of Japanese society and culture through oral presentation in Japanese language.
