This is the continuation of Japanese Literature I. Modern and Contemporary Japanese literature will be introduced. At the end of the course, students will have read excerpts of some famous writings and be familiar with current themes in Japanese literature.

CILO-1: Students will be able to construct critical opinions and discussions on literary works in the context of different times. CILO-2: Students will be able to construct critical opinions and discussions on representative writers and their works. CILO-3: Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of literary trends during the target period.
