Course Description
This course is the continuation of Translation and Interpretation I. By analysing the syntactic and lexical structure of the two languages, it introduces basic translation and interpretation skills on translating Chinese into Japanese. The objective of this course is to develop students’ ability of translating and interpreting Chinese into Japanese by employing the techniques learned.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Students will be able to demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory and practice, and apply it to specific problems encountered in translation between Chinese and Japanese, and vice versa.
CILO-2: Students will be able to use the appropriate tools for translation and interpretation.
CILO-3: Students will be able to acquire and develop deeper awareness of cultural understanding needed in translation and interpretation.
