This course focuses on listening comprehension and use of conversational Japanese. The course emphasizes oral communication skills. Students will be provided different tasks focused on practical daily communication in order to help build confidence in speaking Japanese.

CILO-1: Students will be able to follow the main points of extended discussion around them. CILO-2: Students will be able to understand a large part of many TV programmes on topics of personal interest such as interviews short lectures, and news reports. CILO-3: Students will be able to give straightforward descriptions on a variety of familiar subjects within their field of interest. CILO-4: Students will be able to contribute, account for and sustain their opinion.
