This course is a continuation of Elementary Japanese III. It includes reading and writing skills. At the end of this course, student can converse basic to intermediate daily conversation in Japanese.

CILO-1: Have the knowledge of about 1500 selected vocabulary. CILO-2: Write sentences using the learned vocabulary and structures on simple topics. For example: express prohibition and instruction of the sign, describe occurrence and things using passive verbs etc. CILO-3: Scan and get the gist of simple reading materials such as short essays and stories. CILO-4: Communicate with classmates and the teacher in basic everyday life situations using learned expressions and vocabulary. For example: make suggestions and offer advice, speak about reasons and one’s plan in the future etc.
