This course is the continuation of JAPN2002 Japanese Reading I. The objective of this course is to improve reading skills through reading articles of different topics from various media and sources. This course focuses on developing reading skills to comprehend more complex texts and introducing academic reading skills.

CILO-1: Students will be able to comprehend written materials on general topics and follow their narratives as well as understand the intent of the writers. CILO-2: Students will be able to comprehend materials written clearly on a variety of topics, such as articles and commentaries in newspapers and magazines as well as simple critiques, and comprehend their contents. CILO-3: Students will be able to demontrate an understanding of the content of stories, such as the events and the motives for the character’s actions. CILO-4: Students will be able to enhance their vocabulary used in each field like culture, education, and social issues etc.
