This is a reading course for students who have studied foundational Japanese grammar. The objective of this course is to train and develop reading skills through reading articles of different topics from various media and sources. This course focuses on practicing basic reading skills including skimming, scanning, guessing vocabulary from context, answering basic content questions about text and making inferences.

CILO-1: Students will be able to comprehend written materials with specific contents concerning everyday topics. CILO-2: Students will be able to identify main conclusions in clearly signalled argumentative texts. CILO-3: Students will be able to grasp summary information such as newspaper headlines. CILO-4: Students will able to enhance their vocabulary used in each field like culture, education, and social issues etc.
