This course is the continuation of JAPN1001 Japanese Grammar I. It focuses on learning foundational grammar for complex sentence building. The objective of this course is to develop reading and writing skills for functional literacy at the pre-intermediate level.

CILO-1: Students will be able to use approximately 1900 Japanese words and phrases. CILO-2: Students will be able to read and write approximately 500 kanji characters. CILO-3: Students will be able to identify typical expressions and sentences written in hiragana, katakana, and basic kanji. CILO-4: Students will be able to create complex sentences with appropriate sentence structures and particles.
