Course Description
This course provides conceptual understandings of modern statistical methodologies for business analytics. Statistics plays a fundamental role in all aspects of academic research. In the information age, it is crucial to comprehend statistical methods and their applicability in different scenarios. The course covers topics such as parametric estimation and evaluation, hypothesis testing and regression models. Towards the end of the course, we will further explore current themes of statistics study that bring insights to business research and practices. This includes a discussion of classic statistics papers in sparse regression, factor models, and measuring and modelling with high-frequency data.
