Course Description
The aim of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of logic, apply the knowledge in the context of our daily applications and reasoning and to enhance students' generic analytical ability. Topics include concepts of logic and reasoning, logic puzzles, propositional logic, syllogistic logic and predicate logic.
Intended Learning Outcomes
On completing the course, students will
1. Learn to differentiate between inductive and deductive reasoning arguments;
2. Be able to apply critical thinking techniques to logical arguments encountered in everyday life society and in the media.
