Course Description
This course is designed to introduce students to the strategic applications of information and communication technologies (ICT) innovations in the hospitality, casino, integrated resorts (IR), and tourism industry and to deliver the fundamental understanding of technological advancement in the IR industry. Through case studies and in-class discussions, students will learn how hospitality and IR companies can utilize ICT infrastructures and tools to achieve or maintain their comparative advantages in the market.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Develop a holistic view of the various knowledge and theories of information and communication technology (ICT) and innovation management applicable to the hospitality and integrated resort (IR) industry.
CILO-2: Appraise, analyze and evaluate the general impact and applications of ICTs on various sectors in the hospitality and IR industry.
CILO-3: Identify and provide leadership at work in relation to information, technology and innovation management.
CILO-4: Evaluate and implement appropriate ICT and innovation management theories to support IR organizations in enhancing their business.
CILO-5: Communicate and react proactively to industry stakeholders including staff, travelers, government and commercial organizations in the area of ICTs and innovation.
