Course Description
This course introduces pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical analysis to the students. Topics covered include the pharmacy profession, the medication experience, medication dosage forms, pharmaceutical analysis techniques, pharmacopoeial methods of analysis, and quality control of pharmaceuticals. Knowledge from this course helps prepare students for careers in pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry.

CILO-1: Describe the evolving scope of practice of the pharmacy profession, and the different roles and duties of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
CILO-2: Name and describe the use of drug information resources.
CILO-3: Solve basic pharmaceutical calculation problems.
CILO-4: Explain major drug dosage forms and administration routes.
CILO-5: Interpret the pathophysiology and treatment regimens of major diseases.
CILO-6: Understand the principles of major pharmaceutical analysis techniques and their areas of applications.
