Course Description
This course introduces the basic theory, principle and knowledge of chemical analysis and instrumental analysis, which include titrimetric analysis, gravimetric analysis, electrochemical analysis, spectroscopic analysis and chromatographic analysis. Sampling, error and statistical analysis applied to analytical chemistry are also included.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Apply the principles of common analytical techniques including titrimetry, gravimetry, electrochemical analysis, spectroscopy and chromatography.
CILO-2: Explain the functions of analytical instruments employed in the above techniques.
CILO-3: Analyze the qualitative and quantitative results generated from the analytical instrument.
CILO-4: Select the most appropriate techniques for common sample analysis.
