This course allows a PhD student to work on a topic of special interest, supervised by a professor in the department. The topic should be chosen in consultation with a particular professor and with the aim of providing necessary background for researching and writing the dissertation.

CILO-1: Master specialized methodological and subject-area expertise. CILO-2: Develop research interests. CILO-3: Pursue other objectives through consultation between a given student and instructor.
