Course Description
The course is designed to familiarize students with the methods, concerns, forms, language, and ethics of academic writing, particularly writing in the discipline of history. The precise content of the course will vary somewhat according to the interests and competencies of the instructor. But all instructors offering this course will train students according to widespread disciplinary norms and standards. Students will refine their ability to organize and present ideas, cite and paraphrase sources, and write in clear and polished prose.
