Course Description
The theoretical framework of this course is grounded in post-colonial studies, regional development, globalization, and China’s foreign policy. Initially, the course traces the long-term relationship between China and the Portuguese Republic as well as the period of pre-independence of all Portuguese-speaking Countries. Later, it focusses on the importance of China-Brazil relations, and the relations between China and all Portuguese-speaking Countries after independence.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify the key moments of Sino-Portuguese bilateral relations and their impact of the development of China relations with all Portuguese-speaking Countries.
CILO-2: Explain the development of Sino-Portuguese-speaking Countries relations, before and after their independence.
CILO-3: Describe the main aspects of Sino-Portuguese-speaking Countries relations in relation to cooperation for development.
CILO-4: Recognize the role and importance of MSAR, in the context of Sino-Portuguese-speaking Countries relations.
CILO-5: Integrate the learnings and personal research on Sino-Portuguese-speaking Countries relations in a selected case study or a selected topic.
