Course Description
This course surveys the objectives pursued by government in managing the economy, the means employed in pursuit of those objectives, and theories concerning economic behavior of governments.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Identify key components of theoretic concepts in political economy, with illustration from the experiences of China.
CILO-2: Discuss the role of political economy in understanding economic development.
CILO-3: Locate and evaluate the institutional parameters that have defined and redefined authority relations in people’s daily life.
CILO-4: Communicate the importance of empirical evidence in economics, and evaluate an empirical study about China from its empirical evidence and analytical skill.
