Course Description
This course examines the civil service structure with respect to human resources planning, recruitment and decruitment, selection, orientation, employee training, career development, and compensation and benefits. Emphasis will be placed on civil service reform, managing workforce diversity, employment equity, performance assessment, sexual harassment, and family concerns.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Differentiate between personnel administration and personnel management in theory and practice.
CILO-2: Apply and relate empirical cases of public sector personnel management to the principles, concepts and theories learnt in this course.
CILO-3: Relate and explain different aspects of public sector personnel management substantively in tackling change and development in the environment.
