This course examines the development of different political ideologies in modern times that attempt to address the problem of governance raised by modern mass society. Topics include Classical Liberalism, Neo-Liberalism, Socialism, Marxism and its variations, and the decline and revival of democratic theory.

CILO-1: Differentiate the positive and normative methods in studying politics. CILO-2: Grasp basic knowledge on political theory in topics such as state, freedom and distribution. CILO-3: Differentiate the arguments made by political philosophers. CILO-4: Apply the value of normative methods in analyzing political affairs.
