This course aims to introduce the basic knowledge of the Constitution of China, the Basic Law of Macao and the national security laws of China and Macao at both theoretical and practical levels. It is hoped that this course will help students to understand the basic concepts, theories, principles and spirit of the Constitution and the Basic Law, the basic system of the State and Macao, and the importance of the Constitution and the Basic Law to Macao SAR and Macao residents.

CILO-1: Conceptualize, analyse and describe principles, concepts and norms related to Constitutional Law, Basic Law and national security laws CILO-2: Identify the political systems of China and the Macao SAR and the composition and powers of public authorities CILO-3: Describe the historical background, fundamental purpose and legal implications of the "one country, two systems" policy CILO-4: Explain the relationship between the Constitution and the Basic Law, the relationship between the Constitution and the Macao SAR, and understand the effectiveness of the Constitution in the Macao SAR CILO-5: Identify the content of the "overall national security concept" and exercise the obligations of Chinese citizens in safeguarding national security
