Course Description
This course intends to guide students to work intensively on specific topics related to Linguistics/Translation Studies. It introduces current issues and advanced topics in the related fields and gets students involved in discussing and analyzing the key issues. Students are expected to read books and papers designated by the instructors, to conduct in-depth research on their own, and to present their research findings both in class and in international conferences and seminars.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Demonstrate knowledge of the frontier topics in the related fields and show a capacity for critical appraisal of the literature in these fields.
CILO-2: Initiate their own research and conduct in-depth studies on current issues in their own research area.
CILO-3: Design proper methodology for their own study.
CILO-4: Identify and show their research results in a clear fashion.
CILO-5: Prepare results of academic research into a publishable format for refereed academic journals.
