Course Description
Metal forming is one of the most used manufacturing techniques to process metal products. Over the years, researchers have developed different methods for analysing metal forming processes in order to integrate the multi-disciplinary aspects of the technology to provide a group of fundamental elements for the optimization of concept and design of tools and components. The course focuses on the application of different analytical analysis methods for solving bulk and sheet metal forming problems.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Apply knowledge on analysis methods (Ideal work, slab, upper bound and slip-line methods and FEM) to solve metal forming problems.
CILO-2: Identify the stress/strain conditions of specific forming processes to analyze and solve process design problems.
CILO-3: Design components and processes to meet the typical production requirements for metal forming processes.
