Course Description
This course will introduce advanced aspects of mechatronics. It involves mechanical system interfacing, combinational digital logic, synchronous sequential logic, asynchronous sequential logic, embedded control computers, analog and digital conversion, position and velocity measurement, power amplifiers, energy harvesters, etc. Their applications in mechatronic systems such as robotics, vehicles, and automation systems will be introduced.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Apply advanced mathematics, particular in the areas of logic, physics and electronics, to design and develop efficient and reliable mechatronic systems.
CILO-2: Design and conduct experiments on mechatronic systems, and analyze and interpret the input/output data using measurement devices.
CILO-3: Recognize, articulate, and address mechanical and electrical problems related to specialized mechatronic systems.
CILO-4: Design and simulate mechatronic systems using computer software such as CAD and MATLAB.
