Course Description
This is a one-semester English for General Academic Purposes (EGAP) course. It will enable learners to develop the language and associated practices that they need in order to undertake study or work in English-medium instruction (EMI) higher education.
Intended Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
1. express themselves appropriately in both written and oral academic discourse;
2. organize and apply research strategies to find and evaluate sources to use for academic purposes;
3. apply critical thinking to analyse oral and written texts and develop academically sound arguments;
4. demonstrate collaborative skills in multidisciplinary groups;
5. develop associated academic practices and soft skills, such as goalsetting, self-reflection and time management.
