Course Description
This course is designed to equip school counsellors with the skills and expertise needed to guide students through the dynamic landscape of career exploration and planning. Grounded in the context of educational environments, the course provides the opportunity to gain specialized training in helping students discover their strengths, interests, and aspirations. Through interactive workshops, assessments, and experiential learning, students will develop the skills required to empower students in making informed and meaningful career choices.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Analyze foundational concepts of school counseling to understand the challenges and opportunities in guiding students through their educational and career journeys, focusing on the knowledge of career development theories.
CILO-2: Apply career development theories to assess students’ strengths, interests, and aspirations for effective career counseling, integrating diverse strategies.
CILO-3: Produce proficiently written career assessment reports.
CILO-4: Examine and apply ethical considerations in career counseling, addressing confidentiality, multicultural sensitivity, and special populations for culturally competent guidance.
