Course Description
This course will provide students with an in-depth understanding of children's cognitive development and its implications for learning. It will encompass various topics including brain development, perception, memory, language, concept learning, problem solving, and social cognition. Additionally, the course will explore the roles of genetic and environmental factors in shaping children’s brain and cognitive development and origins of learning disorders.

CILO-1: Define major concepts and theories in children’s cognitive development.
CILO-2: Explain research methodologies adopted in child research, especially cutting-edge neuroscience techniques.
CILO-3: Design different conservation tasks to assess children’s cognitive skills.
CILO-4: Apply knowledge of children’s cognitive development to practices in early childhood education.
