Course Description
This course explicates the design and teaching of secondary school Chinese language curriculum, in order to enhance students’ knowledge about Chinese language curriculum design and teaching, and to heighten ability for and research interest in Chinese language teaching. Topics include basic concepts, categories, theories and design of curriculum; significance, objectives and techniques of teaching; principles and preparation of teaching design; preparation of teaching media; curriculum evaluation and teaching assessment; professional behavior of teachers. Pre-requisite: None
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Design a middle school Chinese language lesson based on current teaching methods and curriculum standards.
CILO-2: Describe the development and current implementation of Chinese language middle school curriculum.
CILO-3: Conduct research on Chinese curriculum design and teaching.
