This is a free elective course for the concentration of science education in CCI. This course aims to provide students with concepts, theories and principles of science teaching and learning, which are essential for their professional development in science teaching practice and academic research in the field of science education. Topic of this course include nature of science, theories of science learning, conception changes in science learning, methods and strategies of science teaching, scientific inquiry, practical work in science teaching, ICT in science teaching. Studies on exemplary teaching practice will be emphasized in this course. Pre-requisite: None

CILO-1: Understand basic concepts and theories of science teaching and learning. CILO-2: Analyze teaching school science materials. CILO-3: Analyze science education academic literature and research papers. CILO-4: Conduct instructional research in science classes. CILO-5: Write a research proposal on science education.
