Course Description
This course aims to introduce classroom communication and classroom management, so that primary teachers are able to effectively manage their classrooms and to facilitate their teaching and student’s learning. Topics in classroom management are developing the relationship among teachers, students and parents, understanding the learning needs of students, increasing students’ learning motivation, setting rules, discipline management, problem behaviors management, and helping individual student self-manage.
Intended Learning Outcomes
CILO-1: Illustrate the concepts of classroom management.
CILO-2: Critically judge the relationships between instructional practices and students’ learning motivation.
CILO-3: Identify why and how to develop relationships among teachers, students and parents.
CILO-4: Illustrate how to understand the learning needs of students, increase students’ learning motivation, set rules, manage problem behaviours, and help individual student self-management.
CILO-5: Describe how to improve classroom and campus physical environment for better learning.
CILO-6: List the classroom management tasks that must be done in the beginning of the semester.
CILO-7: Implement the skills of peer evaluation and self-evaluation.
